The Quadrahome Silai Project is aimed to help women empower themselves and combat poverty by equipping them with skills for self sustenance.
For this reason, 12 women were selected from various areas of Karachi and trained at ZVMG Rangoonwala Community Centre. The two courses provided to them comprised of basic and advanced cutting and sewing. A total of 12 classes were given to these women, with two classes of two hours each, every week.
Those who were able to successfully complete the training were given brand new sewing machines to help them start up their careers. These women were uplifted and encouraged by the prospect of being able to provide and earn a better life for themselves and their families.
